About the Role

Sr. Merchandiser/ Merchandiser will report to the Director or Manager and will be a key player in execution of material management and fabric sourcing strategy. The role would be responsible for supporting materials management administrative in Gap Inc systems & processes with duties including but not limited to fabric development communication, seasonal fabric commitments, fabric liability reports, seasonal costing benchmarking updates & market intelligence presentations. The role supports communication as needed between mill management team across internal cross regional partners and external supply chain. The role requires a strong fabric sourcing background and the proven ability to build and sustain relationships with the mills in region.

What You'll Do

  • Manage fabric MOU commits

  • Manage fabric usage & monthly/seasonal fabric liability reporting

  • Manage follow-up of sample yardage request (SMR’s follow-up)

  • Support MM team with counter sourcing and R&D communication efforts, as needed

  • Cost benchmarking work sheet roll-ups and reporting

  • Follow up support on mill week preparations

  • Support mill on boarding, as needed

  • Update Gap Inc fabric systems i.e. PLM, Centric & Smart Sheets, as needed

  • Manage receipt and shipping of packages

  • Special projects, as needed

Who You Are

  • Fabric Sourcing Knowledge – Experience in fabric development & sourcing preferred

  • Technology – Expert in excel, power points

  • Business Acumen – Experience in execution of fabric sourcing strategy preferred

  • Collaboration – Proven ability to communicate and works well with others

  • Experimentation – Flexible mindset to present and provide options

  • Problem Solver – Demonstrated ability to solve or appropriately escalate challenges

  • Languages – Fluent English/Spanish

  • Based: Guatemala
